IQ Urpaq: a new olympiad for future IT specialists
iQ Solutions and UIB have launched iQ Urpaq, an olympiad for school and university students interested in IT, Big Data analytics and Smart technologies.
A new initiative in IT education, the iQ Urpaq olympiad organized by iQ Solutions together with Kenzhegali Sagadiyev University of International Business (UIB), has attracted strong interest from school and university students. More than 250 applications were submitted by prospective participants from different regions of Kazakhstan, including Taraz, Pavlodar, Astana and Shymkent.
The main goal of the olympiad is to support talented young people, help them unlock their potential and prepare a new generation of specialists for IT and innovation-driven industries. Participants solved tasks focused on some of the most in-demand areas of the digital economy: IT, Big Data analytics and Smart technologies.
Finalists received an opportunity to connect education with a real career path. Winners were awarded tuition funding, education discounts and paid internships at iQ Solutions. This format gives young people not only new knowledge, but also a clear route into the profession, with development in a working environment guided by industry practitioners.
The initiative responds to important challenges in the sector. Kazakhstan needs more qualified IT talent, many school graduates hesitate to choose technology programs because of tuition costs, and strong students need support and motivation. The olympiad became a practical response to these needs and reflects the national priority placed on science, education and artificial intelligence development.
The olympiad is organized by iQ Solutions, one of Kazakhstan’s largest system integrators with 10 years of market experience. The company implements SAP, cloud and industrial technologies, automates business processes and develops cybersecurity projects. Its partners include global leaders such as SAP, Microsoft and Siemens, while its clients include major companies in oil and gas, finance and telecommunications.
